Rift UPCThere’s a tale of a hunter that tripped over some gnarly roots in the Whisker Woods, only to fall right into a rift singularity …Rift ULC

The Whisker Woods Rift is a community of rifty woodland creatures, living in 3 different habitats. In the beginning you will attract 3 basic mice from each habitat at random. The more you catch, the more you will enrage the stronger mice of that habitat. Once you get to 25 rage for a certain habitat, you will now attract those stronger mice on top of the regular ones. They will double the rage when caught, essentially making it impossible for the other two habitats to catch up in terms of rage. Once you hit 50, the boss will challenge you to a fight. Catch it and the cycle starts again from the beginning at 0 rage for all 3 habitats.

Red-Eyed Watcher OwlYou want to get each boss at least once so you can craft a new type of cheese called Lactrodectus Lancashire Cheese. With this cheese you can catch the overlord of the region, the Monstrous Black Widow. You also need to be on amber alert, ragewise, meaning getting all 3 habitats outraged to at least 25 on the rage meter. Only then the MBW will start to show up. However, you should go for more than just 25 each, for two reasons: 1. The attraction rate moves up when the rage levels move up. 2. Loot drops also increase, although there’s a fair bit of randomness where they are concerned, too.

Grizzled SilthTo help you enrage the habitat that you want to focus on, you will sometimes get loot drops to craft habitat-specific charms. Another important ingredient in craKarmachameleonfting those is Calcified Rift Mist, which you will only get very sporadically here when hunting with Rift Vacuum Charms. (In the beginning, these are still a good choice here though, because of the Riftwalker Set bonus.) So if you’re low on Rift Mist, stock up in the Burroughs Rift before advancing to the woods. The habitat charms will channel all the rage into a single habitat. They are great for setting up a run for a certain habitat, and very important for setting you up for a MBW attraction. Let me make this clear: These charms do not help you in attracting the mice of a certain habitat! Instead they will give you rage points for the charm’s habitat IN SPITE of which mice you attract!

For a Widow run, simply hunt normally until one habitat’s rage crosses into amber. Then use charms to get the other two habitats up to speed. If you’re using Magical String, sometimes you will attract a Gilded Leaf mouse, which without rage charms enrages all 3 areas for 2 rage points, or, when using a rage charm, gives you a whopping 6 rage points for the habitat your charm is used for. The latter also goes for the 3 charm-only mice, one for each charm/habitat. Try and get to 49 rage points for each habitat by using charms. Careful with the Gilded Leaf though, once you’re higher than 43 for any habitat. Once you’re in the medium to high 40s for each habitat, arm LLC and hope for a Widow catch. Use your luckiest Rift setup for her. An Ultimate Luck/Power Charm is probably not the worst piece of advice.

MBW Silh

You don’t want to go for 50 in any habitat, since that way you might attract and catch the boss, which will reset all the rage and thwart your plans of catching the Widow. However, once you have crafted Taunting Charms and are using them for a Widow catch, the rage will not reset when you catch a habitat boss, making multiple boss catches in a single run possible. Taunting Charms are only consumed when you catch a boss or the Widow herself.

If you’re lucky enough to get to 50 rage in each area though (which might be achieved by arming an inferior trap to miss the bosses and only catch the regular mice), at that point the Black Widow is the only mouse that can still be attracted.

scrollSummary:
* Enrage mice to lure out the boss of a habitat for the crafting materials of Lactrodectus Lancashire Cheese.
* Use habitat-specific charms to ensure which way you want things to progress.
* Use the charms to build up rage in all 3 habitats for a chance to catch the Monstrous Black Widow with LLC.
* Once you have bought the Bases, craft Taunting Charms for multiple boss catches on a single run.Widow's Web

Can you tell me how much mist would I need to complete this part without going to the Burroughs Rift again? Also, great guide πŸ˜€

      Thanks πŸ™‚

Sorry, can’t tell you, there are just too many factors: Trap, Charm, Cheese, when you consider the area “done”, how closely you monitor your Mist meter …
I’d start out with 250 to 300 Mist, that should last you a while.

Do you recommend the fissure base? Cause the rift base is quite costly πŸ˜›

It’s certainly not necessary. If you want to save the gold, go with something else πŸ™‚ The difference between bases is usually not that big, and the Riftwalker bonus is somewhat overrated.
