So it seems tSporeticushe mountains at the edge of the Sandtail Desert are not as lifeless as we always thought. In fact, underneath the mountains there’s a huge system of caverns where, isolated and over millennia, all sorts of strange and wonderful mice have evolved.

The map piece for the Fungal Cavern can be bought in the Muridae Market. I would advise against going there first chance you get though. Be sure to have a powerful Hydro trap.Glowing Gruyere cheese

When you first enter the Caverns you will face the Fungal Fodder mice in the Cavern Mouth. Your goal is to hunt for Cavern Fungi and Nightshade. Using SB+ is the only way to attract the Nightshade Masquerade mouse, which will help in gathering both more quickly. In my experience, Nightshade charms are hardly worth it. You’d need hundreds for them to make a big difference. If you come by any, save them for the Labyrinth.
Stone Maiden

Next up: The Hollow Halls. The Gruyere Grazers can only be attracted with Glowing Gryuere cheese. Depending on your traps it could be beneficial to switch to a Forgotten Type trap now, although Hydro traps will still catch these mice. Hunt them for their loot of Minerals, an important crafting material in many recipes in this region.Crystal BackNightshade

Now is the time to switch to a Forgotten trap. Hydro simply won’t do anymore. The Mineral Munchers in the Glittering Grotto won’t go for anything else but Mineral cheese. They drop Gemstones.

Crystal ObserverWith those you craft Gemstone cheese and hunt the Gemstone Gorgers at the Flowstone Falls in search of Diamonds.Gemstone cheese

In the end you reach the Subterra Silence where the bosses of the area await. Use Diamond cheese to attract them. Here you can loot Crystal Crucibles which are key in getting the new trap, the Crystal Crucible Trap. There’s a rare chance to attract one of the bosses even with Gemstone cheese though.

There are new charms that will eventually make life easier in the Cavern (and beyond). The three types of Spore charms can be used anywhere in the kingdom. They have no special abilities but are quite powerful. Once you’ve been through the area cycle several times, you can use your excess Fungi to craft those. These charms are probably not advisable during your first run though, as Minerals will be needed for other recipes. For later, there are also Gemstone Boost and Diamond Boost charms.Gemstone

The Cartographer holds a Labyrinth Key, the means to progress to the next area. But for now let’s concentrate on getting that new trap! Charge!!!

Always depends on what you have and what you’re willing to use. Before I had the Crucible trap I used Super Lucks in the beginning, then Ancients for the Mineral mice, ULCs with Gemstone cheese and Ultimate Charms with my Diamond cheese. These days I use lesser charms, probably Ancients for Gemstone mice. Baitkeep charms would be good with Diamond cheese, I think, if you have any.

Hi! Could you do a gold guide please? Thanks!

I don’t think so. I don’t see that it would be possible. It depends too much on too many variables, like rank, charm availability, trap set up, etc.
I don’t feel that my guide is there to give that sort of information. That is something for you to find out on your own. My guide should prepare you for being able to do that on your own ๐Ÿ™‚

You progress to a new sub area simply by switching cheese ๐Ÿ™‚

    Love your guides ๐Ÿ™‚
question, if I had CMCT would it be fine to skip crystal crucible? looking to get to laby as soon as possible as I’ve seen the potential gold is quite nice.
and also while I’m on the topic, I (luckily) have enough materials for a piece of diamond cheese and 6 baitkeeps, and my strongest setup should be CMCT with spellbook. Would it be too much of a risk to try to go for the bosses straight off the bat?

      Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, with CMCT you could skip it. They two traps are pretty similar in stats.

Since you want to get to the Labyrinth and you need one Crucible to buy the key, yes, skip the whole Fungal Cavern and go straight for a boss. No matter how long you hunt in the Cavern, your setup will not improve anyway, so why not directly go for the boss if you can?
Should be doable to get at least one catch in six tries. Of course, an Ultimate Charm (= instant catch) would be even better, but lacking that, Baitkeep is good, too ๐Ÿ™‚
You will however need Glowing Gruyere cheese in the Labyrinth, so you might want to gather materials for it in the Cavern. That’s only done in the first zone of the Cavern though, so you can skip the other zones.

I find it a bit hard to believe though that Spellbook is your best base … It’s actually not that good! There are cheap event bases that outdo it. Personally, I’d use any base with 10 Luck over the Spellbook base.

      Good luck ๐Ÿ™‚

yeah, I’m mostly just thinking from a power based standpoint since they’re boss mice and the CMCT doesn’t have that much luck to begin with. I do have MJB and RJB from lunar event, as well as the cupcake bases. Somewhat close to GTB so will use that once I get it, but for the moment spellbook is my go to for boss mice (except for physical where I use physical brace. Missed out on most of last year’s GWH so didn’t get depth charge either).

I can’t really answer that. There are too many variables, like your trap setup, which resources you would use (like Ultimate Charms for bosses), and what your goals in the area are. You will have to find out yourself ๐Ÿ™‚
